Greetings and salutations! Please enjoy this selection from A Brief History of Space Cats, and the Care and Feeding Thereof by Sarah Ever. Written by the main character from Space Cats from Space, these entries form a resource for feline companions to help them ease the transition from cat “owner” to their true role as caretaker and, possibly, human slave. Please enjoy!
Space Cats don’t hate water, and longtime friends of felines know this is one of those things people say, like “Cats are snobs,” or, “Cats won’t be as loyal as your dog.”
That’s just silly.
My four feline brothers enjoy lounging in the shower after I vacate it, getting their fur and feet noticeably wet. They’ll chase water droplets, drink the last few drops falling from the spigot, and just enjoy the warm humidity.
Clyde, in particular, enjoys lying in the sink.
Pinky and Blinky both will drink from the faucet if it’s turned on low enough. (I think you’ll find any creature, human or otherwise, with as much pride as cats have do not appreciate being startled by anything, especially a furious gush of liquid.)
And while my feline companions don’t swim, it’s not an unheard of practice, even among casual cat aficionados.
Naturally, cats also need plenty of fresh water to drink. Some also insist upon flowing water, but your results may vary with your feline family.
