So very sleepy

To say that I am tired seems like an understatement at this time of the morning. Despite this, I took a look at how my writing week is shaping up.

At least it’s not the worst week this year. (It is the second worst, though. So far.)

With counts like that, no wonder.

On my way home from work I figured out how I was going to end the short story series I’ve been working on with my pen name. Once I finish and publish the last story, I can bundle them into one. I think I’ll go through the bundle more carefully and edit out some of the odd words I repeated rather heavily that I caught on one of my read-throughs after one of the stories was published. Should have done that to start with.

Also yesterday I got an idea for the next set of short stories I want to write for my pen name. I think it’s a good idea – not particularly plot-heavy, but then the kind of thing I’m writing doesn’t need to be. With an idea in mind, I hope I can write quickly.

Okay, time to wake up the crew. Good morning.

Yesterday and Laudry

Yesterday I was so very tired, so I went to bed with everyone at 9 p.m. That meant no writing.

It also meant like 12 hours of sleep, which was rather fabulous. I did love that.

Today meant laundry with Junior Youth, who was not terribly thrilled with the idea of doing laundry, but did enjoy films – both Catching Fire and Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. Good choices, really. Strong women.

I am about to watch Center Stage, myself. Sometimes Vudu has $6.99 movies that aren’t in your library, and I took advantage of the offer to patch that hole.

Let’s see – today I discovered Elias Market with my mom. I managed to get out with only $20 worth of produce, and I found both chia and flax seeds, both of which I’m not entirely prepared to deal with quite yet, but I will be soon. Also more bananas, replacement sweet potatoes, massive cucumbers, grapes (delicious grapes), baby carrots…

I’m not practiced enough to know whether it was a good deal, but I trusted my shopping partner to say it was.

Now that laundry’s done, I have some relaxing to do. I’m going to get some fiction in, too. It’s necessary and has been badly neglected. Which is actually how I tend to always feel (that it’s been neglected). I think I’m going to stop feeling that way. While I do want to write more daily, beating myself up over not writing enough isn’t helping. I’m very happy with myself for writing nearly daily for the entire year. I look forward to finishing this story before November and NaNo.

Yesterday was so long ago

When the kids are out of school my morning routine is smashed to tiny little bitty bits. Last summer this completely derailed my writing, but this summer I’m not going to let it.

I don’t know how, but I’m not going to let it.

Yesterday, shortly before bed, I wrote 377 fiction words. That brought me to 574 total words, which means, once again, I got more fiction than blog words, and that is a success.

I also went out to lunch with family and ate entirely too much at the buffet, which left me feeling generally icky all over. So when it was time to go to my writing group, I was ready for a nap.I bailed on my friends for sleep.

I bailed on my friends for sleep.

The sleep was good, and it left me feeling better. But then I ended up staying up late and cramming words into that space just before bed.

Well, anyway. Today will be was better. (I forgot when I was there for a second.)

Lots and lots of Z’s

I went to bed early last night, at 7:30 p.m. I wasn’t especially sleepy, but my body was tired. I calculated it out and decided if I woke up in the night around 4 a.m. I could declare victory and get up to write, or whatever I wanted.

I woke at 4:12 a.m., but that’s not how sleep works for me. I went back to bed, heard my 5 a.m. alarm and put it to sleep, and then woke up at my usual, “Can’t go back to bed now” 6 a.m. alarm. Ah, well. The sleep was good, and I can’t complain about that.

As a result of the Moving of Large Items that occurred yesterday, I only wrote a little, just enough to keep a streak going. I wrote 139 fiction words. Blog words, though, because I did a month-end review post, came in at 565 words.

I’ve got Pandora playing on the television, and I suppose I’m ready to start the day. I guess.

Bleh. 😉
