Simmering Hunger

1,045 fiction words, 1,382 total words

That subject reads like a romance novel. It’s better than my first subject, though, that was just “Waaah.” Yeah, I don’t know.

So it’s laundry day. It’s taking more time lately because we’re also doing my grandmother’s laundry. I woke at 7 this morning, though, and we got a nice and early start. Hopefully, that will help and we’ll get back home while people are still awake and able to help with bringing things in.

Yesterday was a good day, right up until it wasn’t. I had an amazing smoothie experience for my morning snack, I had a good lunch, and I was going to go to a friend’s party.

And then the time came for the party, and I was scared (I have a little bit of social anxiety), and then I remembered I was supposed to do something with Elder Youth that evening, and he’d been really excited about it, so I was not only scared but sad that I’d disappointed him.

I told my friend I couldn’t come to the party and went home to find a minor plumbing issue in process. I helped deal with that, then did the thing with Elder Youth (which was fun.

My day ended with a considerable amount of stress over household finances, and yeah. Quite ugh.

But, I wrote a few words:

1,045 fiction words, 1,382 total words

And I blogged over at the other place (veg*ism).

And I just figured out that I hadn’t had my spreadsheet set up correctly for the past few days, and so I wrote a few more “total words” over the past day or three than I actually reported. (It’s okay – it’s the fiction words that really count.)

That was a completely rambly post, but I think I’m done now. Today has been better so far, although I’m starving right now. I’m going to go visit a place with lots of produce and buy a bit of food. Kale, since I’m out now. Bananas. Sweet potatoes. And maybe that’s it I think. Parsley, I think, because I’d like to make some Tabouleh. I’m armed with my mom’s recipe.

Breaks, Oil, and Photographs

I have a friend who does amazing three item titles for her blog posts. She does it much better than I do.

Yesterday on the way to my writing group my breaks started sticking after I needed to stop suddenly in highway traffic. And I need an oil change, so I called my preferred shop. I called twice before I got through, and then they asked to call me back. A half hour before they closed they finally returned my call, so they must have been quite busy. (I’m not complaining, just noting.)

I wrote a bit – 167 fiction words that I need to completely rearrange this morning and 446 total words. I didn’t get much editing done, but I did get a coupon for a 50% off coupon for a stock photo subscription.

I’m torn. I could totally use the subscription. Right now hiring a cover designer is outside of my budget, but $50 for 300 images, assuming I remember to get them all in time, is exactly inside it. But Spot (my car) will need breaks, or at least something caliper somethingorother. Last night I think I had settled on not ordering the images, but now I’m double thinking that again. Because that’s what I do! Analysis paralysis for the win!

Taking my time

Happy Sunday! The day started late, at like noon, which was fabulous, and why this post comes so late. I spent my morning working in my Bullet Journal and my Writing Notebook (which doesn’t necessarily need to be capitalized, but #bujo was, so I didn’t want it to feel left out), and got lots of great notes to start organizing my thoughts on Things.

I wrote a little bit, and feel pretty good about it. Only 195 fiction words, but a total of 698 for the day. Yesterday was more reading and media consumption than anything else, but it was good stuff. Saturday, you know. And quite a bit of thinking.

I did mention talking about my income and expenses as Writer: Starter Edition yesterday. I still plan on doing that. I may not get to it this week. Instead I think I’m  planning on it for next week. It’s the kind of thing I can plan ahead for and put some thought into. I may also only do it once a month. We’ll see about that. For now, we’ll plan it for the first Sunday of every month.

Look at that! I’m thinking ahead and planning things! Heh.

One last thing. I’m going to be working more in my #bujo in April. It feels right again, where for a long time I was simply surviving from week to week with routine. Adding this back in seems like a small step back to where I was when I started.

Also, for what it’s worth when I was spending the most time in my bullet journal, I was also spending the most time writing. A coincidence? Perhaps, but who cares. I can make time for this.

And the graphic was fun. I like having images in my posts. Click it to go to the host’s page on the project.

And…I think I’m done for today! Sorry that it’s kind of rambly. Actually, not too sorry. I’m having fun.
