If I never invited people over I would never get anything done.
I have a bed that made its way upstairs and a sofa that’s out of the way.
I’m returning a large string instrument tomorrow.
My car will get an oil change this weekend.
My house will get tidied.

Yesterday was good, hanging out with friends at our venue of choice. Today was fine, productive, although I can’t shake the feeling that perhaps I’ve missed something. I’ll check it out tomorrow, and it’ll be fine, too.
Writing yesterday, yes.

Frustrations today, yes.
Forgot my computer when leaving home, went back for it. Forgot glasses, decided not to go back. Also forgot lunch, called to have person stopping at the house bring both on the way to that person’s errand. Got unintended lunch (still delicious). Got to writing group, all good, except then upon the point when I needed to get down to work, my domain decided it really wanted to show off an old domain I hadn’t let go of yet.
So I couldn’t do this. Now I’m frustrated.
My fingers are blue and I knew this would happen and I’m OK with it, but they’re blue. I am amused.
Happy 4th of July, people to whom this applies! (That would be me, in case there’s doubt.) We celebrated by having lunch with family and a cake that I made with Junior Youth (photo to follow). The food was good, there’s still pasta salad left (and I have a decent quantity of it – so excited!), and the cake was cake-like. There was an abundance of sprinkles.
I wrote yesterday, more than I blogged, so success.

I’d like to say I’d do better today, but it’s not likely. I’m having fun with family, and yeah. Blue fingers. Love.
The start of the new week nearly slipped by me. I was sitting down and all like, “This’ll be fast!” And then it occurred to me that I not only need to review the week’s words but also that I forgot to do the Income & Expenses yesterday.
So the quick bit, yesterday’s words went like so:

And they were fine. Very fine. Spread out, though. I need to work up to NaNo speeds again.
The past week went well, as you can see! I started picking things up on Monday and kept it up all week with a little bit of a dip in the middle. I’d like a whole week of 4-digit days, please and thank you.
I don’t have much to say about last week, at this point. It was good. It needs to keep being good. I’m done with my lull, and I’m ready for action. Action. Action. (That’s a good song.)

The hazard of the footstool is that it often gets shoved into shins and toes when nearby humans aren’t paying attention. Gah.
Good morning, at any rate. Hope everyone slept well and is feeling good, and if you’re not feeling good I hope there’s meds available to push you in that direction.
I got caught up on my Minecraft videos yesterday, and in the evening I found a skeleton spawner rather close to where I intend to have my first base on our family server, so that was pleasing. I’m also going to be carving out a couple more slime chunks underground. Hopefully I found the right X and Z coordinates. It’s so easy to switch those around, to be honest.
I also wrote, pulling at a memory from childhood to toss into the scene. I mean, not exactly, but close. Fun stuff.

The blog words were so high because of the monthly review, which should be repeated today because of the Income & Expenses post for later. I’m not going to do that just yet, though. I’ll wait until the extra person in our house vacates. Not that I don’t like extra people, or don’t trust them. I’m even getting used to this one. But it’s new, having the Youth’s friends over so often.
I’m off to write and watch videos created by gamers for the pleasure of my eyeballs.
Later I’ll be doing the June Review, but for now, wow. Six months have gone by. I’m going to sit on that for a moment, and consider doing a six-month review as part of the June review, actually. Not a horrible idea.
Well, yesterday was Friday, and I discovered that I could do really boring things at work while listening to an ebook and suddenly it wasn’t nearly as difficult to A) stay on task, and B) stay awake and stop complaining about having to do boring tasks. (That could be B and C, actually.)
I also discovered (rediscovered?) that when watching Minecraft, I write better when lying down. Oh, okay. So that’s a stretch. But writing while laying down is a thing for me, especially with super-light Writing Computer.

So while I didn’t annihilate anything, I did write words. Words are good. Those words were good.
Today is laundry and a Monthly Review, which I’m kind of looking forward to. So tomorrow’s words are likely to skyrocket. We shall see.
It’s the last day of June. It’s the last day of the first half of the year. Tomorrow there will be a month to review, and the day after that there will be Income & Expenses to discuss. So I’ll need to be thinking about that.

Not a horrible count, if I do say so myself. I wanted more, but I decided sleep was important. I’m quite tired lately, and I wonder if it’s because I’ve used the snooze alarm regularly from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. for the past week. I’m still having dreams in that period, too, so that might be screwing things up.
I’m off for another 3.5 hours of officeness, and then, freedom-ish for the weekend. Lovely!
In this case, they’re worth the paper they’re written on.
That would be nothing, if it’s not clear.
I wasted away another evening watching Minecraft instead of writing. Actually, I did get something of value done. A relocated NaNoWriMo participant was looking for input on last year’s novel, so I started reading. I only made it a few pages in, though I spent what felt like a couple hours on it. That’s the way it goes for me.

Those were token words, I think. Even the blog words were weak yesterday.
It feels so good to write in large chunks. Things are so cohesive. They fit together so much better. I’m glad I recognize that because I don’t want to fear writing in large batches of 1,000+ words. In fact, I long to see how stringing together those batches in groups of three or four will feel.
There will be a day, in a few weeks, when I will have that time. I will remove myself from my usual writing location and settle down at a desk. Perhaps outside for a bit. Take a timer, make a schedule, and write. Then go for a walk, get a drink, use the restroom, and try it again.
It’s going to be lovely.
It occurs to me that perhaps yesterday’s header was the incorrect one. I may go and change that.
I may not.
Yesterday was some writing but mostly trying to get my head back into work, etc. Time with friends was relaxing, though. I enjoyed it.

Not bad words for as tired as I was.
What I’m really looking forward to today is getting to talk with both Youths and DH tonight about an upcoming event. If I learned one thing on my recent trip, it was that one should not wait until 10 p.m. on a weekend to find a hotel room. It’s a recipe for, “The next hotel is just 15 minutes down the road,” multiplied by three.
I started listening to Neverwhere on my trip. It’s odd, because while it’s clear to me that Neil Gaiman is an excellent writer, and there are some seriously humorous bits in his work, there are also “vast acres of boredom”, as I told my dad. Sometimes my interest just gets lost between the “snort your coffee through your nose” funny bits.

Those are much closer to the kinds of numbers I want to see every day.
