I have done it. Five days before the end of the month I scheduled the last post for the A to Z Challenge. That gives me a self-imposed six days to get Space Cats edited (first reader catches), polish up the cover, and get things ready for publishing.
Then I’d like to do some editing on A Brief History. See if there are any letters I missed. Get that ready as a separate ebook.
And at that point, once I have the three projects I’m working on wrapped up, I’ll start another writing project. So I’ll have several days with no writing, I think. Unless by some miracle something gets in my head I can’t shake. I really would like to keep my writing streak going, but I also don’t want yet another thing to do.
The whole thing offers a sense of urgency to the publishing bits so I can get back to the writing bits.
I used 117 fiction words to finish up the A to Z challenge and wrote a total of 579 words yesterday, along with spending 0.5 hours towards publishing. I expect today will go similarly, with fewer fiction words, as I don’t have a writing project right now.
We’ll see how it goes tomorrow!
Yesterday was Sunday, and as Sundays usually go, it was really productive from tip to toes.
I didn’t wake as early as I wanted, having stayed up until after midnight the day before, but once I did get up I was able to do some more work on the setup of my new bullet journal, make lunch for the youths, write some, play Minecraft on the family server with both kids, take a short nap, get two more letters for the A to Z posted, watch some YouTube, and get my graphics done for this morning’s post.
All of the things!
I even wrote a considerable amount, with 645 fiction words (and 1,026 words total) added to the A to Z challenge, which I am quite close to actually finishing. The X entry is giving me trouble, but I only need probably 250 more words to finish it up. Coming up with those words has been a challenge, though. You’ll see when it comes out.
And, since this week I’ve remembered that I post a weekly review on Mondays, here’s what last week looked like!
I’m pleased that I increased this week as much as I decreased last week. I’m also pleased that the weekly rank is still in the top 10. All in all, very good.
Next week I may have to come up with another section for hours edited because once I finish the A to Z, I’m not starting any new projects until I get Space Cats and A Brief History and that other thing I wrote up for sale.
There’s also this for last week:
Also, there’s this:
April fiction total: 14,783
March fiction total: 12,576
February fiction total: 9,217
January fiction total: 18,615
2017 fiction total: 55,191
002 Words: 7,802
While part of me is irritated that it’s taken me four months to write 50,000 words, the other part of me is happy that it’s not November and I’ve written 50,000+ words! So I’ll lean toward the happy part, and write more publishable words in May.
I’ll leave it there for now. It’s a busy morning, and there’s lots more to do. I managed to wake this morning at 5 a.m., thank goodness, so I’ve gotten some of it done, but there’s always more.
And as an end note, a friend is going through a particularly stressful time today, so if you have some positive thoughts, shove them my way and I’ll channel them in the right direction. Much thanks!

I may be the only person stopping by to consider these things amazing, though.
Minecraft. Got sucked into the Minecraft again. But I finished my starter house and got a small cactus farm going and chopped down lots of trees!
Anyway, I also wrote a tiny bit (55 fiction words, 284 total) and spent an hour editing. Editing mostly consisted of fixing inconsistencies in military ranks, question marks, and brand names. Find and replace is absolutely saving my butt right now.
In other random news, I’m giving a little more attention and creativity to my #bujo right now. I’ve used the same layout since February, and a very similar one since the start of the year. This isn’t to say that I’ve completely changed things up, but I’m putting more color back in, and changing headers. I didn’t feel like I had the time to do that before, so I’m enjoying getting back into it. I like having a pretty date book. Doodles are fun.
Okay, so now I’m off to start editing until it’s time for the kids to get back on the computers and when I’ll need to give this up and turn to a book or something else for an hour. Maybe washing the dishes. Those need doing.
Have a lovely Sunday, everyone!
At this very moment, I am battling hiccups. I hate hiccups. I don’t mind sneezes, though. But the hiccups are distracting and irritating. Not painful yet, but sometimes they are that.
Okay, they’re gone. Now I can focus!
I’m looking back at my #bujo for yesterday. I remember being very productive in the evening, but thinking on it further (and taking a peek at my notes), yeah. Not so much.
I mean, playing Minecraft while watching Minecraft is lots of fun! And I got a lot done on our small family server, having built a fish farm and found more diamonds.
But that’s not writing, and I’m not a YouTuber, I’m a writer. So!
I wrote 303 fiction words just before bedtime on the Y entry for A Brief History, and if I can finish up that today, I’ll just have X and Z to do before that’s done. It’s entirely possible I’ll have that completed and ready for editing/publishing.
And I had 682 words total. Not bad, not good, just words.
I’m aiming for more today!
